The unit must be assembled, but that’s not a problem if you take your time, and pay reasonable attention to the instructions. There are lots of nuts and bolts to install, but I didn’t even use my power tools because it went together so easily. The unassembled units are heavy, and the enclosed panels can dent if you’re not careful, so keep that in mind while handling. Despite the size of the finished unit, the kit has reasonable sized panels that are bolted together to form the skin. The doors can be adjusted, and when properly aligned indicate the rest of the unit is plumb. I used the adjustable feet, so I can’t comment on the back racks that adapt to the wall system(s). The feet are easily adjustable when moved to the final location. I bought three of these, and assembly of all three took a short afternoon without the use of power. The final products are sturdy and attractive in my garage “man cave.” I liked them so well I bought two wall cabinets.

I finally saved up enough money to redo my garage. I purchased three of these cabinets plus three wall units. They really looked good, so I also purchased one of their five-drawer tool cabinets. Assembly is required, but that’s OK — even on a sweltering hot day. One person can do some of the work, but it will take two people to complete installation — particularly when you install the doors.
If you are looking for precision cabinets for your garage, then these are most definitely NOT the way to go. These cabinets are not heavy duty. Some might say that they are flimsy. The thin metal doors dent easily. When I unpacked one of the kits, one of the doors had a small dent at the edge. When I attempted to straighten the dent, the metal fractured.
Worst of all, the finish does not stand up to normal garage chemicals. For example, do you have bugs in your garage? Do you spray for them? Then whatever you do, DO NOT ALLOW overspray to get on the doors because the door finish will stain and you will not be able to clean it off without stripping the finish. By the way, if you read the pamphlets that come with this product, you will not find any warnings about stains from chemical overspray, nor will you find any guidance on the proper care and maintenance of the product. When you read the warranty, you will find that Gladiator Garageworks will not cover “[s]urfaces damaged due to chemical interaction resulting in corrosion of paint or metal.” These cabinets are now three weeks old. They haven’t had a chance to corrode. Yet, the finish is damaged, and anything I do to clean them only makes it worse. I expect thin skin on people — not garage cabinets.
These cabinets are made to sell, not to use. So, if you want to spend five times the value for garage cabinets that “look good” AND you plan to never use them, then this is the way to go. They make a pretty picture, but a lousy product.

Great cabinet. Quick delivery. Ordered 2 and 1 had a damaged part. Called Gladiator and experienced the best customer service. Sent replacement part FedEx. Only negative is fasteners (screws) could be better. They’re hard to get started and fairly hard to seat.

I have purchased and built about 10 of the S2 and S3 Gladiator cabinets. The sheet metal is accurately cut. That’s the good news. The bad news is that Gladiator choose to tap the sheet metal for metal screws to be screwed into these taps. The taps are poorly done, which makes it VERY difficult to screw the supplied screws into the tapped holes. What should be a fairly easy job assembling the cabinets, turns into a headache. In some instances, the screws will strip out, trying to screw them into the sheet metal. I averaged about one screw stripping out per cabinet. The overall quality is, as one other reviewer put it, flimsy. For what the cabinets cost, they certainly should be of higher quality.Gladiator GarageWorks GALG36KDWG Ready-to-Assemble 36-Inch Large GearBox

Product excellent despite being delivered with one scratched door. A quick phone call to Galiator Garagewors direct resulted in a new door being delivered promptly without charge. Very good product, very goos service!

Panels, doors, and shelves are adequate, but not as sturdy as expected for such a heavy cabinet. Lock is adequate only for keeping out children. It engages in the edge of the center shelf, not at top and bottom of door, and same key opens other GarageWorks products.
